Fix Notification Delay on ColorOS (Chinese Version)

I was facing late notification issues on my ColorOS phone (Chinese ROM). Messages from WhatsApp, Gmail and other apps were coming very late. After trying different settings, this is what finally worked for me.

Step 1. Change App Settings

Go to Settings > Apps > Auto Launch → Enable for apps like WhatsApp, Gmail, Messenger.

Go to Settings > Apps > Associated Launch → Enable for the same apps.

Go to Settings > Apps > App Management > Manage Notifications → Allow notifications for important apps.

Open the multitasking screen and lock the apps so they don’t close when clearing background  Tasks. 

Step 2. Adjust Battery Settings

Go to Settings > Battery > Power Saving Settings → Turn off Sleep Standby Optimization.

Go to Settings > Battery > App Battery Management → Set key apps to Allow Background Activity.

Step 3. Enable Developer Options

Open Settings > About Device > Version.

Tap the Version Number seven times to unlock Developer Options.

Go to Settings > System & Update > Developer Options.

Enable USB Debugging.

Step 4. Disable Athena App

Connect your phone to a PC.

Open the Fix Notification ColorOS Chinese tool.

Click Read Info.

Select Uninstall Athena (disables for user 0, doesn’t delete system file).

After applying these steps, notifications started arriving on time. If you're facing similar issues on a Chinese ColorOS phone, try this method. Disabling Athena is the key, but the other settings help too.
